Course Description
This introductory course offers a comprehensive overview of world history from ancient times to the early modern period, highlighting the role of various religions in shaping global events. Students will explore historical narratives through a faith-based lens, suitable for understanding the interplay of religion and culture in history.
What you will learn
- Historical Analysis Skills: Identify and critically analyze the influence of three major world religions on specific historical events or periods, demonstrating historical understanding and faith integration, in a 5-page research paper to be submitted by Week 3.
- Timeline Development: Develop a detailed timeline that highlights key historical events and their religious contexts, incorporating multimedia elements such as images, videos, and audio, to be completed by Week 4.
- Multimedia Project Creation: Create a 5-minute documentary-style video project that examines the role of faith in a specific historical period, demonstrating technical skills in video production and historical accuracy, to be submitted by Week 4.
- Synthesis and Presentation: Combine research, analysis, and multimedia skills to present historical findings and their religious contexts in both written and visual formats, demonstrating comprehensive understanding and effective communication by Week 4.
