KNOWLEDGE THAT MOVES BEYOND THE CLASSROOM.
The Lion Repository is being developed as a home for EMU research, scholarship, ideas, projects, teaching, creative work, and intellectual contributions created to serve people and strengthen communities.
We are interested not only in what our community learns, but in what that learning can build, heal, influence, improve, illuminate, and transform.
Inspired by 1 Corinthians 10:31
A UNIVERSITY SHOULD ADD SOMETHING TO THE WORLD.
EMU students and scholars should not only read what others have written. We should also investigate, create, interpret, test, design, teach, document, and contribute.
The Lion Repository gives that work somewhere to live beyond an assignment submission. It can preserve scholarship that grows from our classrooms, ministries, professions, research questions, communities, creative work, and lived experience.
Some contributions will be traditional academic papers. Others may become research briefs, applied projects, recorded presentations, posters, ministry resources, audio teaching, technical demonstrations, evidence-based guides, or multimedia scholarship.

EMU welcomes inquiry that reaches beyond disciplinary boundaries and asks how knowledge can strengthen people, institutions, communities, systems, and the world we share.
Biblical studies, theology, ministry practice, discipleship, chaplaincy, ethics, Christian leadership, spiritual formation, and the relationship between faith and public life.
Psychology, trauma, relationships, family systems, mental wellness, health, human development, resilience, community care, and research concerned with how people heal and flourish.
Teaching, digital learning, curriculum, student success, leadership development, ministry education, global education, and new approaches to how people learn and grow.
Ethical leadership, public service, community development, justice, institutional leadership, organizational change, social responsibility, policy, and approaches to strengthening communities.
Communication, storytelling, digital media, journalism, film, gaming, religious media, cultural memory, music, visual expression, and the way ideas move through society.
Business, entrepreneurship, organizational leadership, economic mobility, ethical enterprise, nonprofit leadership, innovation, stewardship, and sustainable institutions.
Artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, engineering, environmental systems, biology, health science, mathematics, digital ethics, emerging technology, and questions shaping the future of human life.
SCHOLARSHIP CAN TAKE MORE THAN ONE FORM.
Research papers, working papers, literature reviews, theological papers, conceptual work, and interdisciplinary scholarship.
Selected student projects, doctoral projects, program designs, case studies, community interventions, and professionally applied work.
Shorter evidence-informed works translating scholarship into useful insights for leaders, ministries, organizations, communities, and professionals.
Conference presentations, faculty talks, student showcases, visual research, posters, symposia, and presentation decks.
Recorded lectures, interviews, sermonettes, teaching insights, demonstrations, scholarly conversations, and research explainers.
Media projects, digital scholarship, technology demonstrations, engineering concepts, business models, educational resources, and creative works with academic value.
EMU reports, proceedings, research initiatives, special publications, historical documents, and materials preserving the University’s intellectual life.
LET THE WORK DEVELOP ITS OWN IDENTITY.
Before EMU creates a formal journal, we can establish recognizable scholarly series that allow good work to begin circulating now.
Kingdom Impact Papers

WHAT QUESTION, PROBLEM OR POSSIBILITY ARE YOU WORKING ON?
We want the repository to grow from real inquiry. EMU is beginning with broad calls that allow scholars and students from different disciplines to contribute around shared areas of impact.
Faith In The Work Of The World
We invite papers, projects, presentations, and media exploring how faith informs work, leadership, healing, innovation, service, culture, education, technology, and community life.
Research & Papers
Original research, scholarly essays, working papers, literature reviews, theological scholarship, and interdisciplinary inquiry.
Projects & Innovation
Capstones, applied projects, technology, program models, community solutions, media, business concepts, and demonstrations of impact.
Presentations & Media
Research posters, slide presentations, recorded talks, interviews, audio, video, teaching, and scholarly storytelling.
While the full repository submission system is being developed, send your proposed title, type of contribution, connection to EMU, and a brief description of the work.
MANY VOICES. SHARED PURPOSE.
EMU can use the repository to connect work produced across different stages of scholarship and different parts of the University community.
ACCESS WITH ACADEMIC RESPONSIBILITY.
Works should demonstrate meaningful inquiry, evidence, reasoning, reflection, or disciplined creative thought.
Sources, collaborators, data, images, borrowed ideas, and other contributions should be acknowledged appropriately.
Submitted work should represent the contributor’s intellectual contribution and comply with EMU expectations regarding disclosure, originality, and use of generative technologies.
Work involving human participants, private information, or regulated research activities must satisfy appropriate ethical and institutional requirements.
Contributors must have the legal and ethical right to publicly distribute the submitted text, images, recordings, or other materials.
Every item should identify what it is: student work, faculty paper, presentation, institutional report, working paper, peer-reviewed publication, or another form of scholarship.
A REPOSITORY IS NOT AUTOMATICALLY A JOURNAL.
The Lion Repository is being developed as an institutional scholarly repository for preserving and sharing EMU-related work.
Repository inclusion does not automatically mean a work has undergone formal peer review. Each item should clearly identify its publication and review status.
A formal EMU scholarly journal can grow later from the strongest parts of this infrastructure.
BUILD A BODY OF WORK BEFORE BUILDING A JOURNAL.
First, build the culture of scholarship.
Collect strong student work. Invite faculty scholarship. publish research briefs. Hold virtual presentations. preserve conference materials. showcase applied projects. develop named scholarly series. and give the EMU community a reason to create work worth sharing.
WHAT WILL YOUR WORK CONTRIBUTE?
Scholarship can inform. Research can reveal. Creativity can communicate. Innovation can solve. Teaching can multiply. And knowledge placed in service can become part of something larger than the person who created it.
